Rolls Royce recently announced its plans to start operating a Jet Engine testbed at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. Rolls-Royce will be taking over the 444,00 square ft. test facility, formally owned by Texas Aero Engine Services LLC. The testing facility was purchased with intent to test run all Rolls-Royce Trent Engines, which will allow for further support of its growing fleet. UTC has had recent success with certification of their latest wing navigation light. As a division of United Technologies, UTC has created a new interchangeable navigation light equipped with new state of the art features. Obtaining the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) not only from the US (FAA) but from the European Agency (EASA) as well. The new navigation lights have been set to be a retrofit to the Airbus A230 aircraft family. The composition of the light has enabled it to live a longer than usual and be more reliable for operators. Kontron a German manufacturing / designing company has come to terms the British Airline EasyJet for the incorporation of their latest entertainment system. After continuous testing of other hardware solutions Kontron was the best choice for the task. The German company alongside its trusted partner, Immfly have come together to bring what is known as the “Air Time “system to a couple of the easyJet aircraft. In November of 2017, CFM International signed a huge deal with the company Gulf Air. Gulf Air bought fifty-eight engines from CFM International, ranging in price and scale. The total cost of the agreement was over $1.9 billion dollars, placing Gulf Air on the map as a powerhouse of an airline company. The deal supplied parts for their Airbus fleets and gave them a few extra engines for future use.
