CFM International Signs Huge Deal With Gulf Air

In November of 2017, CFM International signed a huge deal with the company Gulf Air. Gulf Air bought fifty-eight engines from CFM International, ranging in price and scale. The total cost of the agreement was over $1.9 billion dollars, placing Gulf Air on the map as a powerhouse of an airline company. The deal supplied parts for their Airbus fleets and gave them a few extra engines for future use. Not only did the deal supply Gulf Air with the parts, there was also a long-term deal written into the order.

This deal will last through the next ten years and states that CFM International will vow one dollar on every engine on a flight per hour basis. The two companies have been working together since 1992 and Gulf Air has acquired a huge fleet powered by CFM International engines. As Gulf Air continues to strike deals with other companies, and grow its fleet ten-fold, they are slowly securing their foot-hold in the world of aviation. These deals show that Gulf Air is not afraid to change, adapt and grow with the times.

The Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air commented on the friendship that had been forged over decades with CFM International. He stated how proud he was to make this connection even stronger with this new deal. He also commented on the quality that CFM always provides, stating their engines parts were a clear choice for them because they knew that the company was reliable. CFM Internationals president and CEO also commented on the deal, stating his love and support for Gulf Air as a company and partner.
